One of the big challenges facing policymakers is knowing how to implement social distancing controls to control the spread of Covid-19 while also appropriately easing up to avoid an excessive drain on the economy and markets. While some elected officials have communicated an approach that saving lives is their number one concern, the economy is looking at its single biggest drop in economic activity in its history. Such constrictions have broader implications for people being able to provide for themselves and the social fabric of the country.
