Mitch in Stack That Money,

How GIVING away money can actually make you RICHER!

Hey guys,

Most of you probably don't know me but my name is Mitch and I write about retirement on whotrades. I've been checking out the other communities here on whotrades and this one REALLY caught my eye because it blends self-improvement together with financial wellbeing. What an awesome & wicked combo!

Well - If you know me, you know I can't resist NOT writing about these things, so I've decided to share a bit of my expertise on this subject with Sam's community (hope you don't mind hehe). Today I'm going to talk about how giving away money can actually make you more wealthy... yes you heard that correctly. And it's true, the more you give, the richer you become.

The reason for this is mostly psychological. When you give away some of your wealth, you become a little happier. Every time you exercise your giving muscles (as Dave Ramsey would call it), you are exercising your ability to be generous and empathize with other people. As a result of giving and becoming a happier person, you become more productive in life in general. As you know, this results in a higher earning potential both in work and in your business.

If you look at some of the richest people in the world (Tony Robbins for example) they are almost always incredibly generous. Mr. Robbins has fed millions of people during Thanksgiving and wrote a book (if you haven't heard of it, it's his first financial wellness book) called Money Master the Game, and all proceeds went to charity. It's no surprise that he is successful.

Note that it's not about how much you give, but rather the fact that you gave any amount of money away. I always advise in my blogs to put aside just 5% of your income to give away. It doesn't matter where you give the money to, whether it be church or to a homeless person. It's the fact that you are making a difference in the world that makes you gain the ability to put yourself in other people's shoes. And as a business person, having this ability to give love unconditionally will put you at a distinct advantage ahead of all your competitors.

I hope you enjoyed my post!
