If the Fed was hoping to get the retail investor back and buying in the market to allow the hedge funds, institutions and private clients who are all selling at unprecedented levels, to offload to mom and pop... ... it may have to come up with a different strategy than today's flash crash rerun. Then again, it's not like the "market" has any retail investors left: as we disclosed recently, the only buying - aside from China's National Team, and occasional central bank interventions - are corporate buybacks.
