Steven Spielberg is already planning the next two installments.
Although the forthcoming sequel to the record-breaking Jurassic World has already been announced, Universal executives have revealed that the studio had always planned for the franchise to continue as a trilogy. During a recent roundtable with The Hollywood Reporter, studio chiefs divulged that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is already working with Steven Spielberg on an outline for the next two installments. However, due to Trevorrow’s obligations with Star Wars: Episode IX, his commitment will not extend beyond writing duties. The Jurassic World sequel is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
