Why did Vivint Solar (VSLR) Close Up 26% on the Day?

The Provo, Utah-based solar energy company Vivint Solar (VSLR) closed up by 25.71% to $3.08 on heavy trading volume Wednesday, after the solar energy company announced a conference call for investors and analysts on Thursday.

The conference call will be held yesterday at 5 p.m., and will provide investors with a “review of 2015, an overview of current plans and priorities, and an update on the company's operations,” as well as guidance for 2016 the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

As of the market close on Wednesday, 5.96 million shares of Vivint Solar were traded, well above the company's 30-day average of 1.45 million shares, according to an article via The Street.

Last month, Vivint Solar Inc. terminated a deal related to its acquisition by the embattled SunEdison Inc. (SUNE) as the latter failed to meet certain obligations.

Vivint Solar has a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
