The presidential election of 2016 is going down in history as not only an important one for America's future, but also an interesting one. First, Hilary Clinton was thought to be the one candidate to win. She first supported the $15 minimum wage, but later retracted it. Then her for-profit platform failed to win people's approval. This led to Bernie Sanders to become a real contender in the race. Second, Donald Trump leads the Republican party. More surprising then Sanders overtaking Clinton and Trump becoming the leading candidate for the Republicans is how they agree on one issue. The issue of unemployment is a major consider for both Sanders and Trump. According to CNN, America's official unemployment is 5.3%, but Sanders says it is actually at 10% and Trump says its somewhere around 18 to 20%. Although they both agree that unemployment is a major issue they don't agree on how to fix it. Trump wants to fix unemployment by heavily taxing imports from China and Mexico to make goods so expensive people will start buying American products. While Sanders wants to tax the rich and use that money to fund education and training programs for poor and middle class citizens. "This campaign is sending a message to the billionaire class: Yes we have the guts to take you on," Sanders said For more presidential news, click here.
