The Chronicle of Philanthropy surveyed the 150 highest-grossing companies in the U.S. about their charitable giving and wound up analyzing data from 70 of them. It found that while corporate profits hit an all-time high of $1.9 trillion in 2013, cash giving rose less than 3%, to $4.6 billion.
