Earnings Lowdown Tonight, for Tomorrow's Game Wed July 27

  1. Apple crushed unit sales expectations. Despite a drop in revenue, investors did not mind the results.  See below.
  2. Dupont did okay
  3. Caterpillar: terrible results. Economic activity is falling globally. Stock was up anyway.
  4. Verizon: customer adds fell 46%.
  5. Twitter plunged sharply. The stock fell towards $16 AMC. Dorsey's clearly focused on...SQ. Slow revenue is at levels not seen since its IPO.
  6. Under Armour (UA) demand stabilized but were weak.
  7. Eli Lilly (LLY) - reported decent results.
  8. Freeport-McMoran - despite weak results FCX will sell assets to lower debt.

iPhone 7 render:

Other notable plays

  • BlackBerry announced a mainstream Secure Android device. Good on them. The BlackPhone was to...not be. It is bankrupt so there is no player in the secure Android market
  • AMD made a run above $7 intraday. It closed at $6.98.
  • MBLY is cutting its ties with TSLA.
