Earlier today, KB Home released a strong earnings report effectively raising their share prices by 7%. This success is largely due to the upcoming Spring season as it is the highest selling season. KB Home recorded 1st quarter profit for the 1st time in 7 years as their prices increased substantially. For most, the rising prices end up lowering sales volumes. Due to the demand and limited inventory however, KB Home was able to defy the trends and up their prices across its sales regions. On the west coast, prices went up 30% from last year. Elsewhere, prices went up between 13% and 26%. Builders have gone up against many obstacles recently, especially the harsh winter. We should expect many more projects to emerge in the spring.
