Anheuser-Busch InBev’s takeover of SABMiller is expected to comply with the imposed conditions of South Africa on SABMiller when it’s head offices were moved to Britain in 1999, according to South Africa’s National Treasury. On Tuesday SABMiller agreed in principle to an offer valued at over $100 billion from Anheuser-Busch InBev. According to a senior treasury official the department was watching the merger for signs of any tax erosion. The Congress of South African Trade Unions, a partner in the ruling African National Congress did say it opposed the deal on Wednesday.
