Will Alcoa (AA) Stock Be Helped by Bullish Aluminum Demand Outlook?

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Alcoa (AA - Get Report) shares are declining 3.99% to $9.50 on Tuesday despite industry executives having a bullish outlook on future aluminum demand, Reuters reports.

Specifically, global aluminum demand is expected to increase by 24 million tonnes to 78 million tonnes by 2025, according to Alfredo Barrios, Rio Tinto's (RIO) chief executive for aluminum.

"Demand for our products is clearly healthy. The issue we face is excessive supply," Barrios stated at Metal Bulletin's International Aluminum conference in Vancouver, according to Reuters.

Looking ahead, the aluminum market is expected to stabilize in the next five years.
