Continental Resources (CLR) Stock Lower as Oil Prices Fall

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Continental Resources (CLR - Get Report) stock closed down by 5.72% to $34.11 on Monday, as oil prices were lower on profit-taking and higher production by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

Traders took profits this afternoon after crude oil futures gained nearly 9% last week, Reuters reports.

Additionally, OPEC pumped 31.57 million barrels per day of the oversupplied commodity last month, up 110,000 barrels per day from August, according to Reuters.

WTI crude is down 4.45% to $47.42 per barrel, while Brent crude is decreasing 4.60% to $50.23 per barrel this afternoon, according to the CNBC.com index.
