April Budget Surplus for the U.S. Government

The U.S. government posted a budget surplus of $106.9 billion for the month of April. Compared to the same period in fiscal year 2013, the deficit has shrunk 37 percent. The government saw a surplus of tax payments from individuals and corporations. For example, the government took in $166 billion from individual income taxes and payroll taxes. On the corporate level, the government took in $43 billion for the month of April.
