HTC's 10 Features the Best Smartphone Cameras Ever

Following yesterday’s leak, HTC has officially unveiled its flagship smartphone for 2016: the 10. The successor to last year’s One M9 and One A9 and a design that finally ditches the “One, “M” and “A” designations for simplicity’s sake, the 10 — at least in terms of aesthetics — is more of an evolution than an overhaul. Combining the looks of the A9 and M9, the 10 features a 5.2-inch quad HD Super LCD 5 display (with 30% more color than 2015′s offerings) while a curved Gorilla Glass covering curves around the edges to meet the aluminum frame. Inside, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor is coupled with 4GB of RAM while 32GB of on-board storage is joined by a microSD slot for expansion. Other details include a 3,000mAh battery, Quick Charge 3.0 support, and a USB-C connection.

The major draw here, however, may be the phone’s cameras. For the rear camera, HTC has employed a 12-megapixel sensor and optically stabilized f/1.8 lens along with dual-LED flash, a brand new laser autofocus system, and 4K video recording with 24-bit high-resolution audio. In the front is an upgraded 5-megapixel sensor that also offers optic stabilization while the f/1.8 wide-angle lens is, according to HTC, the first-ever for a front-facing camera.

The 10 is set to launch next month while the unlocked version of the smartphone can be pre-ordered now directly from HTC for $699 USD.
