Texas Court Awards $77 Million Following 16th Largest Verdict of 2015

DALLAS, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dallas law firm Munck Wilson Mandala, LLP, is announcing the entry of an opinion and order by Judge Richard A. Schell of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas awarding firm client, ams-TAOSUSA Inc. f/k/a Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions, Inc., more than $77 million in damages against Intersil Corporation ISIL, -6.72% including $10 million in exemplary damages.

The decision comes after a four-week trial in which the jury found in favor of ams-TAOS on all claims against Intersil, including misappropriation of ams-TAOS' trade secrets; breach of a non-disclosure agreement; tortious interference with ams-TAOS' prospective business relations; and willful infringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,596,981.
