Ireland announced today it plans to shut down a tax arrangement used by Apple (NYSE: APPL) as a sanctuary to save over $40 billion from taxation. Instead they're leaving an even bigger loophole open that will possibly keep Apple from having to pay any more tax. According to a U.S. Senate committee investigation in May, Apple cut billions from its tax bill by registering its companies in a city named Cork. Everyone seems to have a problem with it, Apple has more cash money than the American government and isn't paying taxes. Senator Carl Levin said Apple had the "holy grail of tax avoidance".
