The BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – have become economic powerhouses. Their total contribution to global economic growth is estimated to have soared to 50%. 75 companies are covered in this report and they have a way to go before they can claim to be at the forefront of anti-corruption and transparency practices.

KEY STATS: BRICS

Top score: India (5.4 / 10)
Lowest score: China (2 / 10)
Average: 3.5 / 10

Companies from India performed the best overall among the BRICS, with a score of 54 per cent (5.4 out of a maximum score of 10) on the strength of their performance on country-by-country reporting.

I am suprise to see that Russia is not the leader and it didnt score highest in corruption and even more weird to see RUSAL as the company with 100% transparency.

But still, I am glad that such emerging countries as India are doing better and India is really promising for investors right now, maybe with the increased transparency and economic stability it will become even more desirable to invest in?
