Friday's After-Hours Movers

Friday's After-Hours Movers - WellCare Health Plans, Inc. NYSE:WCG, Lowe's Companies, Inc. NYSE:LOW

U.S. stock markets closed slightly down on Friday trading, same as metals, as investors started to consider an interest rate hike out of the Fed this year as a plausible event, which led to large declines in utilities stocks.

On The Rise

After the market closed, shares of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. WCG 0.45% traded slightly up on news that the company was donating $10,000 to the American Red Cross to help fund its relief efforts for flood victims in Louisiana. Also contributing to the cause were AT&T Inc. T 0.94%, which gave $100,000, and Exxon Mobil Corporation XOM 1.25%, which gained 0.1 percent in after-hours, following a $500,000 donation. Other donors included Hormel Foods Corp HRL 4.37% and Royal Dutch Shell plc (ADR) (NYSE: RDS-A).

On The Decline

Among Friday’s after-hours decliners was Lowe's Companies, Inc. LOW 1.82%, which traded very slightly down off the bell after the company declared a $0.35 per share quarterly dividend. The payout was in line with the previous one and implies a forward yield of 1.8 percent. Shareholders of record as of October 19 will be entitled to the dividend on November 2.
