Android Wear Now Works on the iPhone

Google introduces Android Wear for iOS.

If you have an iPhone, but would prefer to rock an Android-powered wearable over the Apple Watch, you’re in luck: today Google announced the launch of Android Wear for iOS. Thanks to the creation of the new app, Android-wearing iPhone users can now pair their smartwatch with their iPhone (iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or later) while getting important info like phone calls, messages and notifications right on their wrist’s always-on display. As per usual, fans can continue to set fitness goals while checking up on daily and weekly progress on their device while Smart Help offers up timely tips like when to leave for appointments, current traffic info, flight statuses and more.

Android Wear for iOS works with the LG Watch Urbane while all future Android Wear watches — including those from Huawei, Asus and Motorola — will also support Apple’s mobile operating system. Urbane wearers can download the app now via iTunes.
