FXTM’s chief market strategist Hussein Sayed, has a pretty good idea as to why: “The Dow has traded higher for 10 consecutive days, but none of these 10 days saw an increase of more than 0.5%. The last time the Dow moved more than 1% was back in May 17, when the index dropped 1.78%.” The S&P 500 SPX, -0.11% , which also nailed a record close yesterday, has been in a daily range of less than 0.3% for the past 13 trading sessions — the quietest period in decades, says Sayed.
