Today in 2006 Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) acquired then-nascent video upload company Youtube for 1.65 billion dollars. By December of that year, YouTube had been selected as Time’s 2006 Person of the Year (or, to fit the “person” requirement, “You” were selected and reflected in a mirror in a YouTube screen on the cover). Eight years later, with these sites a part of daily life, here's a tribute (via Youtube) to what poor Google must put up with daily.
