After its success as a social media network reporting over 200 million users worldwide, Twitter jumped to investment as a source of advices.
Yesterday twitter proved its power and impact on investment. But this time, data and analysis weren’t involved; a fake tweet followed by nearly two million people, claiming there had been an explosion at the White House that injured President Obama was enough to bring the Dow Jones Industrial down from 14697.15 to 14548.58.
Was the tweet automatically included as a source of advice? Should we really rely on social media to invest?
