Beginning March 10, British bank Barclays (NYSE: BCS) will allow payments to be made with just a Twitter handle, according to The Guardian. This service will be available to businesses and individuals, and will be conducted through the Pingit mobile app, which has seen 3.7 million downloads since 2012. All transactions will be conducted through Pingit, not Twitter (NYSE: TWTR), putting users safety concerns at ease, according to The Guardian. Users will not need to provide private information such as bank details or a phone number; instead, they simply need to enable the Pingit app through their Twitter settings.
