Late last year, NASA offered up a treat: a look at the launch of a UP Aerospace SpaceLoft sounding rocket via GoPro. Now GoPro has shared an extended version of the footage — one that uses the GoPro footage alone. Captured on a HERO4, the three-and-a-half-minute piece showcases the deployment of NASA’s Maraia Capsule — which is ultimately intended to be an “inexpensive, autonomous International Space Station-based vehicle to provide on-demand return of small scientific and engineering payloads” — as viewers get up-close and personal with the rocket’s insane speeds (mach 5.5 or 3,800 mph at engine burnout) before reaching an altitude of 396,000 feet.SOURCE TECHCRUNCH
