Here's Why Facebook (FB) Stock Advanced Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Facebook (FB - Get Report) stock closed Wednesday's trading session up 0.11% to $97.11 after the social networking service launched a new coding site, called TechPrep, to target users interested in programming.

In an effort to encourage self starters to get started on coding, the website also caters to parents or guardians who want to help their children.

Facebook said it was looking to help interested blacks or Hispanics given that research conducted by McKinsey & Co. shows there are very few resources available to them.
