Urban Outfitter (NYSE:URBN) has begun to focus more on its online sales and reports that in the last two quarters they have a double digit increase in sales, and that also goes for the two other brands the company owns Anthropologie and Free People. Even though Urban still operates and continues to open new stores all around the world its been online where they have been able to keep up with their youthful clientele. They online sales are growing faster than their in store sales. This isnt the first company to find more success online than in their brick and mortar flagships in a few years, I expect to see more and more retailers close down their stores and emphasis more on their online stores.
