How quickly things can change. Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA,) darling of the world a mere month ago, is going through some tough times. Consumer reports is backtracking on their claim that the Model S is the greatest piece of american technology since the first space shuttle. The car now supposedly has reliability issues. While I'm skeptical of that analysis since the car’s are so new, I have to take their word for it to a certain extent. I admit to being one of the people who bought into the hype. The marketing was just so good. The car basically drives itself! But this is a classic example as to why it’s prudent to be cautious when others are greedy and greedy when others are cautious, especially with such a newer company. I wonder how this will affect Elon’s other ventures, such as SpaceX and SolarCity (NASDAQ: SCTY.) Will investors be wary, thinking the companies are nothing but hype and have no substance?
