United Continental (UAL) Stock Down, CEO Oscar Munoz Suffered Heart Attack

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- United Continental (UAL - Get Report) stock is lower by 2.87% to $56.10 in midday trading on Friday, after CEO Oscar Munoz suffered a heart attack.

Munoz is currently being treated at a Chicago hospital, sources told the Wall Street Journal.

United directors "are waiting to hear back from his family and his doctors" for further details about the heart attack, the Journal reports. They hope to know within the next 24 hours whether the airline will need to appoint an interim leader.

Munoz was appointed as CEO of the company in September.

United Continental is a transportation company based in Chicago that owns the United Airlines brand.
