Senior engineer James Damore confirmed his identity and dismissal to Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal on Monday, threatening to sue after he was dismissed by Alphabet Inc. GOOG, -0.24% GOOGL, -0.16% Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said in a note to employees that the memo violated the company’s code of conduct “by advancing harmful gender stereotypes in our workplace.” Damore’s memo created a firestorm of controversy that likely won’t end with his firing.
