Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) will acquire the content delivery network company EdgeCast. EdgeCast provides content delivery network services to more than 6,000 clients including Hulu, Twitter, and Pinterest. The addition of EdgeCast will boost Verizon’s enterprise business and increase video delivery capacity. Now Verizon can provide content delivery services to internet companies without third-party providers. EdgeCast will be a part of Verizon’s digital media services group. According to techcrunch, the deal is worth more than $350 million.
