Tele2 has reached a deal to sell its Norwegian mobile telecoms business to TeliaSonera for 5.1 billion Swedish crowns. In December Tele2 loss an auction of key mobile frequencies that were needed to power its Norwegian mobile network of some 2,000 antennas. If regulators approve the deal, TeliaSonera will be asked for concessions to prevents a duopoly and protect consumers, which could include Tele2 selling its entire mobile network. TeliaSonera CEO Johan Dennelind said, "We are convinced that this is a deal that we can bring to a closing, otherwise we would not have announced it."
