Emerson Electric: How The First Quarter Went And What We Can Look Forward To

This week, Emerson Electric (EMR) reported results for its fiscal first quarter that ended on Dec. 31, 2014. All in all, it was a pretty decent quarter, but there are some clouds on the horizon. Let's dig into these results and see just how good the quarter was, and what we can expect going forward. A Summary Of Results

Net sales for Emerson during the quarter was flat at $5.6B. The strong U.S. Dollar took a 3-percentage point bite out of revenue, while divestitures took out another 3%. Underlying sales, which exclude the effects of foreign exchange, acquisitions, and divestitures, rose by 6% during the quarter.
