According to Bullard, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, there is not enough good economic news to begin to tapering QE. Bullard stated that the labor markets have since improved since the current program first began last September. He acknowledges that labor markets are improving, unemployment is down, and payrolls are up. Here are 3 reasons why the fed should keep QE according to Bullard: 1. According to alternative measures of labor force participation rate and employment population ratio, the labor market is not performing as well. 2. Real GDP growth has only been around 1% in the past three quarters. 3. Inflation is relatively low. We will all sit and wait until September.
