Consumer Reports' Change of Heart on Apple's MacBook Pro — Tech Roundup

Earlier this week we noted that Consumer Reports decided it couldn't recommend Apple's (AAPL) latest MacBook Pro because of its inconsistent battery life.

The company issued a statement saying the inconsistent battery life was a result of a bug caused by a setting rarely used by customers and did not "reflect real-world usage."

Consumer Reports was fair about the explanation, saying as a result of Apple fixing the supposed bug, it would be willing to retest the product and issue its opinion. In doing so, the publication came away far more impressed.

As a result of the change, all versions of the MacBook Pro scored high enough to be recommended by Consumer Reports.
