Google Doesn't Care if You Can Do The Job

Tech giant Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) sees approximately $2 million job applications per year, according to CNN. The company constantly tops lists of best places to work and the competition of fiercely qualified prospects is large.

The qualifications to work at Google are high, however, that doesn’t mean a candidate needs to be Ivy League. According to CNN, employers at Google look for things like strong leadership style, rather than skills, and the ability to solve problems and compromise.

"When you see a problem do you step in, help solve it," Google Head of People Operations Laszlo Block said, according to CNN. "Are you willing to step out and let somebody else take over, and make room for somebody else? Are you willing to give up power?"

Further, the company says the least important factor is whether the person is able to do the job, because the company wants its employees to be able to think on their feet.
