Customer Additions Boost T-Mobile Q2 Revenue By 12.8%

T-Mobile US Inc TMUS released its second quarter results that were driven by another quarter of over one million customer additions. As a result, its revenue grew 12.8 percent on a year-over-year basis and came in above the Street expectations.

The third-biggest telecom service provider in the U.S. reported net income of $225 million or EPS of $0.25 for the three-month period April–June. Revenue for the same period was $9.2 billion. This was better than the Street analysts' expectations of EPS of $0.22 on revenues of $9.03 billion.

T-Mobile President and CEO, John Legere, said, "We outperformed the competition again on every key metric, while delivering the best postpaid phone churn numbers in our history!. Quarter after quarter this team continues to deliver results that are the best in the business despite the competition's best efforts to compete."

Moving ahead, the company increased its guidance for branded postpaid net additions to 3.4–3.8 million from 3.2–3.6 million for the full year. The company also narrowed its adjusted EBITDA outlook to $9.8 - $10.1 billion from $9.7-$10.2 billion projected by it earlier.

Following the results, T-Mobile shares traded up $1.53 or 3.40 percent at $46.51 in the pre-market.
