Netflix Lands Streaming Rights To FX Emmy Hit 'American Crime Story'

The streaming giant revealed on Monday it signed a deal with FX FOXA 0.45% to be the streaming home to the well-received, limited-run series "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson." The deal begins in 2017 and will include future installments of the anthology drama from producer Ryan Murphy.

Nominated for 22 Emmy awards, "Crime Story" is one of the real breakouts from the 2015-2016 season. Like Murphy's "American Horror Story," the show will tackle a different criminal case with every installment.

The initial 10-episode run focused on the O.J. Simpson case and lured top talent including John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., Courtney B. Vance, David Schwimmer, Nathan Lane, Sterling K. Brown and longtime Murphy collaborator Sarah Paulson.

Season 2 will debut next year and center on crime in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
