(Image source: niftymom) The consumer products giant Kimberly Clark Corp (NYSE:KMB) is considering a plan to spinoff its health care business. The health care business generates about $1.6 billion in annual sales. According to Reuters, “Kimberly-Clark's health care business sells surgical and infection prevention products for the operating room, as well as medical devices.” But the health care unit is small compared to the Kimberly-Clark’s operating segments. The company no longer sees a strategic fit with the rest of the other segments. Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) will advise Kimberly Clark on the spinoff. After the spinoff, Kimberly will focus only their consumer and professional brands such as Kleenex tissues, Huggies diapers, Kotex, and a host of other products.
