(Image source: Yum) As part of a restructuring effort, the restaurant operator Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM) will combine its international and U.S. operations of KFC, Taco Bells, and Pizza Hut, but leave Chinese and Indian operations separately. As of January 1st, 2014, the reorganization will be in effect. Keeping China and India separate from the combination make sense because some of the products offered in those countries are specially tailored to the local culinary scene such as the spices used. In addition, China and India are high growth markets. Investors are receptive to the news as shares are trading 2 percent higher.
