Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has agreed to purchase German motorcycle apparel and accessories retailer Detlev Louis Motorrad-Vertriebs GmbH for $456 million. The deal allows Warren Buffet's firm to expand in Europe despite its economic problems. The owner of Detlev Louis, had approached Berkshire about a possible deal and sold the company to a Berkshire unit. Antitrust approval is still required. Buffet said, "The U.S. is my first love, but I see terrific possibilities for us in Europe." .
