The Dow Jones Industrial Average briefly moved above resistance at 16,933.43. Trend changed to Up from Neutral

Far East markets and related ETFs finally are showing positive technical parameters. Nice breakout by the South Korean ETF and the China ETF with a heavier weight in the financial services sector!

Technicals for S&P 500 stocks to 10:15: Bullish. 26 stocks broke resistance. 1broke support: $YUM Breakouts included $PM, $OXY, $V, $FCX, $OI

Editor’s Note: After 10:15 AM EDT, another 8 S&P 500 stocks broke resistance: NWSA, CAM, PBLT, MAR, LLL, TDC, SNI and PCL.

Canadian financials led Cdn. equities higher. Breakouts were recorded by $BNS.CA and $TD.CA. TSX Financials and related ETFs also broke $XFN.CA

Notable strength was recorded by the U.S. Technology sector. Index and related ETFs broke resistance to set new uptrends.
